Where it all started in 1965
(N.W. side of Chicago
Steve's house in the basement)
To the best of our knowledge there were four other groups sharing the same name in the mid '60s: Randy Holden's band of "Mr.
Pharmacist" fame from San Francisco, Kirby Bivan's group formed in Skokie, IL in 1965, and another organized in 1964 at Hartwick
College, Oneonta, New York.
Although we may have heard the Skokie-based group promoted on the radio one day in 1967,
it's amazing we never crossed paths.
We happened to find yet another "Other Half" (1965-'67) from Greenville, TX on You Tube
with a song titled "Lost Everything". You can read about them
here.
We have no connection with a group by the very same
name formed in August of 2003 based in the Northern New Jersey area, nor the band from Hamilton (Ontario) Canada formed in 2005.
Listen to
Girl With the Long Black Hair!
"We're baaack!"
(Directly from one of our 15ips half track mixes of the original recording session back in April of 1967.)
Last but not least, imagine everyone's surprise when Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar formed a group some 40 years later under the same name!
