It's always hard to say goodbye, especially when it's to a friend of 43 years. Fred Langworthy was a gentleman in every sense of the word.  He was a quiet unassuming man who brought his own brand of class to the band.  Fred never complained and always went along with what everyone else wanted to do.  Fred was a graduate of Schurz High School in Chicago and DeVry Technical Institute. He was our electronics technician and even built some of our early guitar amps and monitors.  Fred passed away on February 4, 2008 as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash.  I feel so fortunate to have played with one of the great guitar players of the 60's garage band era.
I would also like to thank his wife Barb for allowing us to visit Fred during his days in the hospital most of which were spent in I.C.U.  The saying is, “Only the good die young”, and Fred was definitely one of the best.  Fred was a diabetic and used to drink Fresca and i know I wore this one out a long time ago but here goes, “One more time":  I used to tell Fred that if he drank too much Fresca he would snow in his pants.  I guess you’d have to remember the Fresca commercials to understand.  Actually I think Steve started that one, but I was always saying it.
Fred is one person who touched my life in a positive fashion and a man I will never forget.  When you got to know Fred you could not help but love him.  I know you will be waiting to greet us when we all meet our creator. You are missed.

Golden Memories
I am saddened by the loss of Fred. He will truly be missed.  Fred was a founding member of the band, and even though Fred left the band way before I joined, I knew him and considered him my friend.  I am glad I had the chance to jam with Fred at the reunion party and that will be a memory I will cherish forever.
He was a soft-spoken guy and had a great sense of humor.  I loved to talk to him about old guitars, amplifiers and cars.  I am glad to have known him even though it was for such a short time.  Fred was a very smart and interesting guy.  I wish I could have had the opportunity to play more music with him, but I will cherish the time I got to spend with him.
